I’m Jamie Clanin, the founder, lead photographer, and "Chief Nerd" behind this gallery. Along with my partner, Travis Carney (GoPhotoTN), we are a team of East Tennessee-based explorers who find our greatest inspiration where the pavement ends.

As a woman-owned and operated small business, TravelsWithNerds is rooted in a deep love for the natural world. By day, I am a veterinarian, a role that fuels my passion for science, animal welfare, and lifelong learning. This scientific curiosity naturally evolved into a love for prehistoric life—specifically dinosaurs—which then spiraled into a whimsical fascination with cryptids and mythical creatures. On our travels, you’ll often find me setting up "action shots" for my favorite dinosaur models or dragons, blending the majestic reality of nature with a touch of fantasy.

Photography with a Purpose: We believe in art that gives back. Every purchase from our store supports a global cause - 50% of all annual proceeds are donated to Heifer International, helping to end hunger and poverty through sustainable community development.
